USA has the largest per capita health costs in the OECD by far, about $14K vs $8k in eg Canada, with a public health system, and is well down the list in health outcomes overall. ikely because it is a private profit based system, leaving many Americans unable to afford private health care costs. Gentrification writ large. Affordable health care, Medicaid has been an attempt to address this. Just the same, about 26 million Americans remain uninsured.
