“Trying to demonstrate a party’s power to kill popular legislation is an interesting approach to governance.”

Indeed it is, and it’s another talking point for the Democrats. If only their/our outrage can be externalized in ads. Acting like spiteful children certainly is a poor way to present themselves.

Why don’t we write some ads WE would like to see and send them to the DNC? I’m not kidding. A clip from Jon Stewart’s outrage and fluent critique of what has just been done to Veterans by the Repugnants, for a start…..?

And while you're at it, write some front page headlines for the NY Times, WAPO, etc.!

Do you know how to send things to the DNC, Elisabeth?

Thank you, Christine! LOL on DeJoy. I best not write "Electrify the USPS" on my envelope to them...morning!

The DNC's zip code is 20003.

Good question, I'd like to know that too.

The ex-R’s (Lincoln Project) know how to do it and who their target audience is. Use them.

Acting like spiteful (and often malicious) children has become Republican core MO, and weirdly there seems to be some sort of broad appeal to it so long as they keep getting away with it. In reality (with few recent exceptions) their behavior is shameful, even criminal, and for a number of decades, their record has been dismal. Still waiting for the Reagan era promise of the "high tide" that allegedly "lifts all boats"? You'll be waiting till the ice caps melt, and that won't be pretty.

I would almost say, the GQP can keep getting away with their "spite as policy" just so long as the base feels that they are "owning the libs"--I believe that weird sentiment is the basis of that "broad appeal".

Exactamente. And as long as “libs” keep up with one step forward and then two or numerous steps back, that broad appeal is easy to maintain.

Keep it simple and quit acting simple. Liberal means favorable to progress and opposed to bigotry.

All the more reason we must succeed in the midterms. It may be our last shot.

I'm easily distracted, Elena. Thanks for refocusing me.
