I am a veteran from the post-Vietnam "New Army". There were a few guys like Pete Hegseth left in the service when I joined, guys who would pick on and make life difficult for other soldiers. Most like that left because there just wasn't the stomach for that from most GIs. Such a guy would never have made sergeant let alone officer. How could a line GI respect this guy? Would you die/kill for such a character?
