I would seek out an organization such as the League of Women Voters or ask your trusted neighbor whom she confides in and make a little group to meet once a month and analyze the Trump agenda. It does help to have some support for what YOU think. Have you heard of Braver Angels? -- they give tools for dialogue between red and blue. Also if you are really brave, just ask what one of your neighbors sees in Trump that is so positive and listen politely. The bedrock is usually racism, fear of any differences (immigrants), trashing the "woke" (reevaluating our "history") agenda. Best of luck and courage.
Barbara, I appreciate your response, but you do not understand at all. This is Republican territory! Period! People around here would not care what either candidate thinks- it is Republican! When my parents were dividing property, they had well over 170 guns. My sister and brother were Republicans and I was not. As a result, I was given 2 guns, with them knowing full well that I had 3 children. I had to give up the one pistol I owned to make sure that my children did not know what jerks my parents were. Stop telling me how to fix it because you DO NOT UNDERSTAND! I am 75 years old and it has not changed since I was a child. It never will, and I will not be moving again, so it is what it is.

You have my support for what help it may be. I identify completely with your situation being told by my father that I ruined his life by being born! My family such as they are have discarded me as they are full blown MAGA crazy imbeciles. I am 77 and homebound with mobility impairments that limit completely my ability to leave my house without the help of my caretaker who happens to be a Black pastor of his own church. ⛪️ I reside in blood red SC and am completely stuck here with my darling stress relievers, 😽😽 Sophie and Claire. I am a cancer research nurse
retired here at the request of my family so they could assist when my disabilities became apparent. As is obvious, that was a decision I regret in every bone of my body (hindsight is so very clear.) I worked as a volunteer in animal rescue but those “friends” abandoned me quickly when my disabilities advanced and I was unable to help physically or donate more money to their rescues. I can ? talk if you like although my voice is leaving me too with other body parts!

Hmmm….three “old ladies” trapped in MAGA world not of our choosing. Some have options to relocate, be physically active in community resistance while I for one cannot. I believe community is the way out but not available to some of us. The younger generations will find their way; do you read Dash Dabrovsky? (Sp?) He’s a breath of fresh air, a young man with spunk.
