Before Roe v Wade— and legal birth control meds— many OB-Gyn docs (including my dad) routinely did D&Cs for their patients who wanted pregnancies terminated. The twisted American system has always been rigged against the have-nots.

My Mom was one of them. Then had the hysterectomy . Single, divorced W/ 3 kids. My humor about this, all of it, seems to me that the Repubs. Vote against their own needs. Then blame Dems because they did ?
Things are not always defined simply. My dad was an excellent physician and teacher… a male chauvinist… a conservative Republican who— along with the AMA at the time— vehemently opposed Nixon’s proposed “socialized medicine.” Later, however, he was disgusted by the takeover of medical practice by insurance companies and knew that it was far worse than the government being involved. He realized his political mistake.
He lived the old “be careful what you wish for” that bites us in the behind over and over when alternative, unintended consequences are not considered.

I love that he actually experienced a discovery. Weren’t all of our dads male chauvinists? At least, mine was too.
Yep. And most OB-Gyn docs were male. Their take on women's reproductive organs was incredibly off the mark in so many cases.
Correct!
