My dad was an excellent physician and teacher… a male chauvinist… a conservative Republican who— along with the AMA at the time— vehemently opposed Nixon’s proposed “socialized medicine.” Later, however, he was disgusted by the takeover of medical practice by insurance companies and knew that it was far worse than the government being involved. He realized his political mistake.
He lived the old “be careful what you wish for” that bites us in the behind over and over when alternative, unintended consequences are not considered.

I love that he actually experienced a discovery. Weren’t all of our dads male chauvinists? At least, mine was too.
Yep. And most OB-Gyn docs were male. Their take on women's reproductive organs was incredibly off the mark in so many cases.
