Part (most?) of the blame in the health care industry is selling out to investment firms that are dollar oriented rather than patient care oriented. Covid burnout is another.

Private equity is not regulated to prevent their acquiring an essential company, putting it in debt, selling off profitable parts of the company, closing down parts that aren’t profitable, reducing head count until essential workers like nurses can barely keep up, burn out and quit. The private equity execs steal millions by destroying essential services and institutions, and we let them get away with it. This must stop, and if Harris is elected without a governing trifecta, she needs to use the bully pulpit to call out the corrupt actors who are lining their pockets and destroying our country.

That's a big deal. There was a long article in our newspaper about how that has eroded patient care. Not that anything has been done to stop it.
