Dismissing him as an imbecile is a mistake......the point of my post. His cultists see him as an innocent man, being unlawfully prosecuted by an evil administration. I believe he has purposefully cultivated this situation, and it is sustaining him. I'm not so quick to include all his supporters as "imbeciles"........there must be a reason they stick with him. Maybe it's because they can't admit they were wrong about him. No one wants to look like an idiot. I suppose, in the long run, the reason I, and many other people like me, are so frustrated, is that we want to see the best in people.......we don't want to think they are stupid, but we've gotten to the point where we have to think they are stupid so we can continue to think we are right.
