KR, we are here on earth, really, too briefly to fully grasp, I think, the rhythm of ebb/flow, creation/entropy…we humans often do not have the “long vision” & so history rhymes (we never seem to learn our lesson!). As a kid I often could not understand how things could be the way they were….then as a teen & young adult seeing the TV cov…
KR, we are here on earth, really, too briefly to fully grasp, I think, the rhythm of ebb/flow, creation/entropy…we humans often do not have the “long vision” & so history rhymes (we never seem to learn our lesson!). As a kid I often could not understand how things could be the way they were….then as a teen & young adult seeing the TV coverage of Vietnam, brought brutally home (literally into people’s living rooms) the death and destruction…eventually, I believe, bringing about the anti-war sentiment & protests, thus pushing for the end to the wars. I lost too-young admired friends in Vietnam & others who returned forever scarred….that, as a teen (these guys were seniors when I was a freshman in HS & they were drafted after graduation) was life altering for me…..planting the seeds of pacifism & nonviolence that would take root as I grew older. What is the lyric “when will we ever learn?”….sigh, think we are still trying to learn that lesson…rinse, repeat.
