After that I found the only way I could really increase my earnings was to change jobs every few years...because 3% of nothing looks like nothing. Finally after nearly 20 yrs of experience a man was hired over me that didn't know how to do his job and was paid twice what I was being paid. I moved on and was able to establish myself by finding a world in freelance where they paid you what you were worth to them regardless of whether you are male or female. Yet there were still times I had to roll my eyes at what I saw happening to women and minorities.
