Off-topic I know, but I just had to laugh when I saw your comment. It reminded me of the silliness over the Stiffkey Bridge and the fight between National Trust engineers and the fairies that I read about in the NYT--

My husband was born in Devon, but has been in the US since 1990s, and there's a reason for that! He'd probably agree about the engineers ... but if you go back far enough, I suppose you could argue for those guys who built the stone circles .... ;-) (Sorry, it's early and I'm being silly.)

I'm not interested in subscribing to the NYT, but I am interested in folklore and had to find out what this was about.
