Thank you, Heather, for everything you’ve given us in the last 14 months with your letters. Last night’s was particularly brilliant and poignant. I printed it to read it out loud at our Thanksgiving table in between dinner and dessert. I’m going to save it to read on future Thanksgivings. I feel like you’ve written a national prayer for strength and resilience in the face of our chronic struggles. You, more than anyone else, have given me a much more profound sense of what it means to be an American and what our country, at its best, contributes to the world.
Louise LeBourgeois, I loved that you shared HCR's "letter" at your Thanksgiving dinner. Sharing the "letter" at future Thanksgiving dinners sounds like a great tradition. I am a member of a couple of Facebook groups will HCR's fans. The "letter" was shared with those groups by others and received a very positive response.
I am, and will always be, forever grateful for your incredible stewardship throughout the past year (plus) of confusion and obfuscation. I have always appreciated the phrase “a rising tide lifts all boats”. I’m hopeful for a sea of righteousness sweeping in and bringing us all the calm, steady hands at the helm we all need. We will get by, we will survive. Happy Thanksgiving Dr. Richardson and all members here. Blessings.
Where would we all be if we hadn't had you, Heather over the last year+. Not sure I would be in the somewhat sound mental health I am today without your letters to ground me each morning. Your "perseverance" has helped us all through these dark times....like a lighthouse showing the way. Thank you.
One of my favorite gratitudes this year has been finding your letters and your Tues/Thurs lecture-pep talks. The photos have been icing on the cake. Be safe. Be well. And the same for those you love.
Heather, thank you for the book talk today! I took notes and hope to read The Virginian and the book written by the man who was a POW as soon as I can get them.
I understand why history textbooks k-12 are generally remaining attached to the old narratives. What will it take to get textbooks to present the narrative you talked about today of equity and equality?
Thanks so much for being an anchor in such troubling times!!
I started receiving your letters and watching the live chats in April and have learned so much history that was never taught in school. I am so thankful for having found you! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones!
Me too! I’ve taken to telling my friends and children about the history of [fill in the blank], especially during this election season, all thanks to Heather.
Thank you so very much for the gifts of your time, knowledge and perspectives. Rest well, and know that you are loved and greatly appreciated by so many of us and others who you might never meet in person. 🧡🤎💛
I hoped you would rest. I spoke with my brother in England today and he asked about the origin of Thanksgiving Day. I sent him your letter, the most thorough I’ve seen. I love that you tell us when you’re taking a night off so that we don’t worry! And I love the “Perseverance” too. As always, thank you.
Heather, I am so grateful for you and and all that you share with us! ...and the wider lens you provide us with to better understand what we are seeing.
Thank you so much for "entertaining" us today on Thanksgiving - it really helped me to get through the day and gave me interesting things to think about, as always.
I watched today, not in real time, and have a request. Please turn the little slickered captain back around so we can see him! Loved viewing some of your treasures.

Wonderful!!
I sent Heather's Thanksgiving letter as text or email to family and friends since we couldn't be together in person.
Yes, totally agree, thank you Heather.
Yesterday's piece was world class, Heather. Wonderful to have a true story well told. We need more truth along with its kissing cousin, beauty.
You deserve a night off, Heather...you work harder than anyone we know, trying to help us make sense of all. We are so very thankful for you!
Agreed! Well Said! You could do this 5days a week instead if 7...
Absolutely! The rested mind is the fertile mind!

Thank for spending your Thanksgiving with us today. Your talks always offer perspective and hope, two things we really need these days!

Rest well🌿
What????? A night off??? No, just kidding. You deserve a month off, if not more. Sleep well and soundly. Respite comes in small parcels does it not?

Thank you. I read your Thanksgiving piece aloud to my wife after breakfast. We were teary-eyed by the time I got to the end. Well done.
