Thanks for this Heather. We are going to be hit by a wave of mind boggling incompetence, cluelessness and cruelty.

I think I have written here what an editor told his rookie reporter the first day on the job: "Young man, there is only on story, and that is 'the rich screwing the poor."

The businessman re-elected on November 5, 2024, will be doing just that. By lowering taxes for the corporate rich, not allowing them to pay overtime, cutting social programs the poor and retired need, imposing steeper tariffs on China, which will actually be paid by businesses, thus increasing what the businesses will charge consumers, and kicking millions of immigrants out of our country, which will hurt farmers and small businesses who employ them, will ruin the economy. I don't think the MAGAs who elected him will like that, not to mention the rest of us.

The Trump/ Putin plan to destroy America is in the process of doing just that . With every move he makes he tells America “F You “ .

As his supporters listen to the plans to destroy this Country ( that Republicans built in steps to corruption over the past fifty plus years ) I wonder what they think or if they even care.

We already know the Republican appointees on the Supreme Court don’t care . They sold out many years ago. The authors of the 2025 plan are claiming this plan .

It’s a sorry day when the motivation to seek the highest office in the land is to destroy our Constitution and our democracy is ‘the deal’.

Things will change radically for everyone , but those most affected will have the least recourse.

I think that the people who will suffer most during the Trump administration will be the ones who voted for him. They didn’t realize the consequences of his election. His cabinet and other administrative appointments will gut the Federal bureaucracy; he has nominated people who are comically unfit for their positions. I have no confidence in the Republican controlled Senate to act as a brake on his appointments. What they say or think privately and in some cases publicly stated opposition to appointments will fold, I fear. Perhaps they will realize that the legislation passed in the first 2 years of the Biden administration has largely benefited red states. Hopefully any money remaining uncommitted from these bills can be released to projects and programs for which they were intended. I don’t know how Musk and Ramaswamy will be able to cut from spending. Where will the authority come from. The same for Dr. Oz and his role in Medicare and Medicaid. I don’t think it will be long before he becomes VERY unpopular. Can we hope the 2026 mid-term elections give us some respite. It’s time for Democrats to quit finger pointing and come together to salvage what they can. I can’t count all the reasons that have been used to explain Harris’s loss. It’s not any one thing, and who really knows which things were true reasons how how these should be weighted. Now we have the consequences of Biden’s decision to let Ukraine use American weapons in Russia. There’s enough range to strike assembly of supplies and troops a hundred or so miles into Russia, but not reach the heart of Russia. Maybe they can play a role in reclaiming Crimea, but it needs to be fast. Europe is realizing they must strengthen themselves, but they figured it out too late. The addition of Norway, Finland, and Sweden has made a difference, but North Korea has put boots on the ground. What a mess for our children and grandchildren.

This is so good and painful to hear.

Yes, thank you Heather!

Now is not the time for paralysis, but analysis. Not cursing at the dark, or sitting around waiting for what we think it is the inevitable to fall, but looking for where to create relationships ,tie strings, and step on the head of the serpent when it isn’t paying attention. Do not clutter up your gifts of intellect and will with a grim out picturing of events that haven’t even happened yet.

I always thought that John Kennedy appointed his brother AG in order to prevent being caught in Kennedy Clan shenanigans.

Robert Kennedy was an excellent choice.

I have to disagree with you. Robert did little to advance civil rights enforcement during his brother's brief tenure. Robert also participated in the various scheme's to assassinate Castro. I mean, you could say that he changed. I don't think he changed enough.

I don’t understand why Americans do not recognize all the good things President Biden’s administration did for regular people. It’s quite distressing.

Why are the Democrats silent now?

I know a lot of my friends are still actively grieving and not even reading the news yet. Right or wrong that is their reality.

Thank you for pointing out the fact that Trump's so-called mandate is nothing of the kind. Even the Democrats have swallowed the Cool Aid on this one. If this is any indication of how the Democratic Party is thinking about the future,we are in the deep muddy for sure. All one has to do is remember the consequences of the "New Democrats" under Clinton's administration: greater economic inequality, further financial power in fewer hands and the reduction of regulatory power of corporate power in America. The geniuses in the Democratic Party are already talking about listening to the Trump hive mind....What could be worse?
