Brown vs. Board of Education was introduced when I was 3 years old. Segregation was big in my small Southern Baptist town in NC until I started high school in 1964. That was the first year we integrated. I was excited but not many were. Black kids were bussed in because God forbid that white kids ended up in “colored town”! But as tense as it was, it went rather smoothly because we had one of the coolest principals. He was fair-minded and level-headed. Yes, he was white but he respected the students and the staff which was now black and white. The respect for him was returned. I can’t say I ever loved high school but I loved my experiences and making new friends. What burned me up was when we had our 10th class reunion, only a few black folks showed up. I found out that many had not been invited. I never went back to another one. Seemed like the South had won again. Glad to being a Californian for 50 years!

Segregation didn’t die. It has been smoldering since Brown v the Board of Education! Trump enabled those anti-equality promoters to spout their venom and support policies which reinforce their views! The Christian Nationalist movement falls under that umbrella!
