Heather, I read your letter early this morning but did not catch the significance of the rebuttal being spoken by a woman from her kitchen until I heard your inflection when you read it. Wow! So a woman’s place is in the kitchen. Just WOW! Thank you for all that you do to help us understand the nuances of what is happening.

It is really quite sickening, isn't it?

'Gorgeous. Powerful.' (Words said aloud, to myself, sitting here, listening deeping.)

Thank you, Professor. As ever.

Thanks for ending with the kitchen call out. Misogynistic move to say the least.

HCR,

I hadn't intended to listen to the entire 13 minutes, but I did. Excellent.

To quote Simon Rosenberg, “Biden kicked assSsss”. And he seemed to enjoy every minute. And I agree, I found that kitchen backdrop for the rebuttal speech to be unprofessional and demeaning. I appreciate your pointing that out, Heather.

Thank you, HCR! I thought of your assurances that Joe is sharp while I watched. Yes, and wily.

Ugh, that woman.. she was creepy.. like a conversion therapist barbie.

He did a good job and I liked the aggressive approach. But simply restoring Roe is not enough. When Roe was in place, states put up so many roadblocks and unnecessary procedures that getting an abortion was very difficult. Need to instead make it impossible for state or federal government to have any role other than medical licensing.

Entertaining and informative. Thank you.

What a message from the GOP on the day before International Women's Day! : "empowered women to the kitchen."

You summarized my life in this letter. As an 82-year-old Ph.D. and business owner, I smoked a pipe through the cowboy era. The world made my husband suffer for my successes, and then he made me suffer to get even. That's a story of the 70s and 80s that I share with many successful women of my generation. If men would only realize that they have a lot to gain too if they dismantle systemic misogyny in the home and then, home by home, in the nation. It will take awhile before the Katie Britts and Donald Trumps disappear, but they already know they are the dinosaurs, I believe.
