The Oregon Supreme Court is not R, but has declined to interfere until this goes to trial. The people suing picked the eastern Oregon judge on purpose as judges are elected and he would soon be out of a job if he had not stayed the measure. It may at some point become law, but in the meantime the killing continues and everyone throws up their hands and says what can we do. The answer is obvious, but there are enough Rs around to make it difficult.
