True but forcing corporations to make less money by not selling to 72% of the population is not the way to any kind of monopoly. Or at least it's not enough. I mean Trump is *trying* to use the government to force people to buy Teslas but no has gone to jail for not doing so. Yet.

I think that Reagan's "Supply Side" is the recycled justification for feudalism, that was always mostly a con. Somehow getting rich (never mind how) is a prime qualification for leadership in society at large. Or so many would like us to believe. Reagan's formula of making the richest richer and freeing them of social responsibilities would result in prosperity for all made no logical or historical sense, but say something often enough and a lot of people will believe it. Naturally those who saw that direction as advantageous supported it.

CEO's have been giddy with joy since Trump took over, bending over backward to satisfy his whims. BUT, Trump cares only for Trump and his own agendas. Trump currently is trying to shed the burden of taxation onto the working class entirely. but he and his minions are far better at wrecking things than making them actually function. We saw that with the challenge of COVID, among other things. So log as He gains wealth and power, he could care less about the fate of the nation, even, in the end, it's CEOs. We are all expendable.
