John, great that you've read some background. What diplomatic moves would you suggest from Ukraine or the US in the midst of this invasion? Putin has already taken Crimea from Ukraine while the US did almost nothing to help them retain their country. I definitely fault the US for not taking more intelligent, unselfish and positive steps when the Soviet Union suddenly fell and a kleptocracy/oligarchy took over, but Putin smothering all semblance of dissent (Navalny?) and continuing to threaten and attack neighboring countries makes any diplomacy ineffective IMO. And no, I don't believe he is seriously "threatened" by NATO, but only by the other countries becoming more democratic and possibly westernized in some ways.

I think the sanctions Biden put on Russia have not worked. Can the 2 countries talk about removing sanctions and ways to stop more killings and destruction?

Since the sanctions haven't worked to stop Russia's destruction, I don't see how removing them would make a difference. I see your point but I don't think Putin has ever been a good faith actor--I think he would just use negotiations to his political advantage, to show his "strength", which is probably why Biden is unwilling to go in that directions. Ukraine would see this as a betrayal, even more than their current betrayal by the Trump House in Congress.
