I love the read, I love the listen. I feel guilty at this dual pleasure, and will enjoy both as long as they are available. If the listen leaves, I applaud your efforts at self care.
If the reading out loud is doable for you, please keep doing it. To hear your voice, inflections, tone, emphases, is a real bonus over just hearing my voice in my head when I read. I do both. Thanks, HCR!
Thank you SO much for doing a podcast! I almost NEVER listen to podcasts, but I have VERY limited time to read and there are times that I can Listen and it doesn't disrupt my work and then I can catch up on what I don't have the time to read. Yours is one of the few items I would/will listen to in a podcast!
I too love listening to you read your own words. Straightforward and matter-of-fact, but the nuances of your inflection and pacing are an added pleasure. I do hope it's not wearing you out.
You may not be aware that you - perhaps accidentally - are subscribed to the podcast email, so unsubscribe from the podcast email and you can read on the Substack blog as usual
Crazy week ahead. VP Harris needs to continue to speak with a loud, clear voice on many issues, not just Gaza.
I continue to try and reconcile reports this weekend that say a) 97% of those who voted for DJT in 2020 will do so again in 2024 and b) reports from DC primary and elsewhere that suggest DJT support is soft.
Some people read, others listen, but I do both. I realized a couple years ago what a careless reader I have been most of my life. It happened when I began following transcripts to recorded content which from habit I often skimmed ahead of the audio -- and voila! The audio sometimes brought something to my attention I had missed.
(Sad lesson, too late.)
Anyway, I found the text reader feature in my Chromebook and now often use that to read, even following the content on the screen. Makes me feel smarter (and reassures me that as my short-term memory deteriorates there are tools that keep me out of trouble.
I like to listen, but usually wind up reading first because it's available first in print. I'm going to read or listen either way. Don't overtax yourself to get it out in another format. Thanks for your insights.

Please just let me read this. I do not want to listen.
'just LET me read this' ? What is preventing you from just reading it and ignoring the podcast?

Love listening when I cannot read.

Prefer to read so I can circle back to any thoughts that are complicated. If I were a commuter though, I’d probably prefer to listen as I drive.
Where do I go to "read"?
OK, think I figured it out.
if it were true that Israel has agreed to it, then Harris would not need to talk today to the War Cabinet.
Thank you for providing this recording…but I actually prefer reading them because I start every day reading your Letters.
