Nope. A convicted felon can run for president. The only way to block him from ever running again was for the Senate to convict his impeachment. (Pisses me off, too)

Morning, TC...as much as it pains me to say it, here is what I see happening. Democrats managed to get trump out of office because we were outraged by his antics for four years. This time around, unless there is a ground swell the likes of which was not even seen in 2020, the Republicans will vote trump back in, and the rest of us will be in for the revenge of a millennium. And it will spread to the rest of the world as well. In the meantime, Senate elections are this year, and if the same happens, Biden won't be able to get anything else done during his presidency. The Republican Party has turned into a hodgepodge of thugs and debutantes and unless every eligible sane voter votes otherwise, they are going to take this country down. Pessimism is not my usual manner, in fact I am usually sickeningly optimistic, but I am old enough to see what is happening, and it scares the living sh!t out of me...

Too sad. Maybe heтАЩll be too busy protesting and appealing to run again. Or maybe ALL the American voters wonтАЩt vote for a convicted criminal. I can always dream.

If he runs, he will lose. The reason Mitch McConnell and other RтАЩs have turned against him is (1) his Jan. 6 troubles are growing, and the primary reason: (2) heтАЩs a known loser. He lost in 2020. He lost the House in the 2018 midterms. He lost the Senate on Jan. 5. The govt. went blue on his watch, when every election is a referendum on the sitting President. R politicians are political hacks, they always know which way the winds are blowing.

McConnell has already said that he'd support trump if trump is the nominee. 99% of the republicans will fall in line. They are terrified of him.

He's made it very clear that he will support whomever is the republican nominee.

Interesting that felons may not vote in some states, but Trump could run for President.

It is an interesting question. And thanks to TC we have the answer. Plus, itтАЩs all over the internet, just for a Google search. HereтАЩs an article but there are many sources , including this one that asks тАЬCan Trump run for president from prison?тАЭ https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2021/05/can-trump-run-for-president-from-prison.html
