or just another opinion. Opinions are easy and cheap. Truth takes work and costs.

Stuart. I work hard. I have founded several companies. I have put fortune on the line and have ended up employing hundreds of people. It focuses ones mind and brings one close to the truth. In that we agree.

David, you have founded several companies and employed hundreds of people, and that may be great as long as those you employed were paid a decent living wage and did not have to also rely on public assistance in order to make ends meet. Did you provide healthcare benefits and paid time off or was attending to an illness, family emergency, meeting with a teacher or a school play a crap shoot for the employee? Did they have an OSHA safe working environment? Were they provided with the adequate tools and resources to perform their jobs safely and efficiently? Did they suffer from repetitive motion or weight handling injuries which you fought workers comp benefits? Was your and your sticker holders' compensation disproportionately high relative to the wages provided by you? Did your employees have to work two or three jobs to make ends meet?

There are many business owners who reap a lot of rewards and pay little in taxes as well as low wages and no benefits to their employees. If your employees depend on any form of public assistance or need to work to jobs or more to make ends meet, you are not paying your fair share as an employer and perhaps not paying your fair share in taxes, personal or business.

IтАЩm glad you asked. We payed very well and have had great benefits. We have been fortunate. I have typically done well but not always. I have put capital in and lost. I have looked back on what I have paid in income taxes over the years and have paid about 50% all in. NYC. It was good value. My last business I sold, and rolled into stock, a year ago was a Cannabis RE company. ItтАЩs doing great and has financed cannabis facilities that employ hundreds. Fingers crossed it may go public soon. We shall see. I am a founder of another company in the space that looks good but I am in the stage where we are putting in investment and working for free. Fun but not yet something to brag about. If we are successful, we will finance businesses that employ hundreds of people in what I think is a neat business with some pretty switched on people. This is the type of investment I believe we donтАЩt want to kill.

We all wish you well, David. But once again, look at the life styles and living conditions of your workers. Do you talk to them in their homes? Are they doing well all around in their lives? If not, are low wages/benefits to blame?

Fern, I discovered that the group marching in Philadelphia was run out of town by a group of people who live in Philadelphia. A police captain, I think that was his rank, announced the results of that parade while being interviewed by a reporter?

He seemed pleased with the results, in fact, so was I.

The question that came to my mind is where were the police? Where were there leaders? Who issued the parade permit, if not issued, why wasn't it broken up by the police????

I am afraid there is much more to come and it is not going to be good.

Hope all went well with the storm. No damage from wind, or rain here.

We all draw lessons frm our lives, that's why we are here to my mind. Lessons about oneself are one truth and can be difficult for anyone else to question but others can help you refine them. Lessons about others and the outside world have to be confronted with others as they are not necessarily universal truths, just judgements opinions.
