We are just over one week away from the Mass Poor People and Low-Wage Workers’ Assembly and Moral March on Washington and to the Polls!
June 18, 2022, is more than a day, it is a declaration of the pain, power and brilliance of the poor and low-wealth people in this country. We are hurting, but, in the face of ongoing injustice, we will not be silent anymore!
The Seattle Regional PPC in partnership with the Well and the WA PPC is excited to invite Dr. Cornel West to virtually join us for a talk on King's Philosophy of Nonviolence. During his talk, Dr. West will remind us that nonviolence is not a temporary behavior we adopt while taking action- it is a way of life for people who believe, as he does, "that justice is what love looks like in public".
Dr. West will also connect King's Philosophy of Nonviolence with the current struggles of the Poor People's Campaign to shift the narrative, to build power among people living in poverty and low wealth, and to secure policies that reconstruct society from the bottom up. This gathering will ground us and prepare us for the Mass Poor People's and Low Wage Workers' Assembly and Moral March on Washington DC and to the Polls.
