To me, Demings' major contribution is "On Quality." Reading it and taking it to heart is how the Japanese cleaned Detroit's clock in the 70s.

Actually, they have gotten better - not everywhere for sure, but interesting quality stuff (like the all-electric For F-150) is showing up.

Did you see the video of the electric F-150 pulling 10 train cars loaded with 42 other F-150s 1,000 feet without putting on a strain? Driven by the woman engineer who led the electric F-150 project.
