I started this clear but somewhat chilly summer day reading a young adult novel on a sunny corner of the porch with my coffee, pitted about a gazillion cherries for pies, worked for a few hours on the new book, and then my sister and I kayaked up the Sound until we almost got eaten by a giant blue whale...
Beautiful, descriptive poem Rowsham. (May I copy it, giving authorship credit of course, for my personal use with a screenshot of Buddy's inspiring photo & crediting him also?)
So glad you are cool. It is 91 degrees here in Austin at 9:48 PM, down from 104. For a former Bostonian, it is pretty far out of my comfort zone. I love your - or Buddy’s - beautiful photos of Maine and your letters. Thank you.
And you have Texas humidity. I remember feeling like by the time I walked from the bathroom back to the bedroom that I needed to go take another shower.
Lovely photo and a great story about the blue whale. I thought you were going to tell us you saw a white whale!n Thanks for the great pictures and of course your daily letter which starts things off for me in the am.
Sweet dreams, Heather. Isn’t it a blessing to be surrounded by the beauty of nature and our special friends and family?! And Cherry pie! I think I’ve spotted that blue whale here on the Northern California coast and once even in the icy snow melted Lake Tahoe. No one believes me, but I’m almost sure. No pictures, just memories. Or perhaps dreams.
So glad you had such a good day! It sounds beautiful and rejuvenating. You deserve it. Deep gratitude for your intrepid invaluable work for democracy and our country. Rest well!
Could there be a more perfect day for someone who deserves it? Don't think so.
I agree 100%, Michael, and Buddy’s sunrise brings more moments of joy.
Awakening
Ah, to awaken to
crimson splendor
as the eye of golden
sun reflects and refracts
majestic ripples of amber,
russet, and copper
on sea and sky.
The majesty of our orbiting
earth offers exquisite
moments of grace
to those who awaken
with the rising of
our morning light —
the glow of dawn.
Such a splendid canvas
of color against the
mauve and blue heavens
paints a picture of
hope and peace,
laughter and joy —
a litany of promise.
Your poetry is as stunning as Buddy’s photograph
Thank you, Bonnie!
I agree! That is some nice prose.
“paints a picture of hope and peace”…ah Rowshan, let’s make it so!
Yes, let’s, Sharon!
This, and coffee

Of course, Belinda! Thank you.
Good one, Rowshan.
Thank you, Pam.
Just BEAUTIFUL Rowshan!🥰
Thanks so much, LouAnn!
I also posted this poem and picture to my FB page.
Thank you.
Tapping the like button endlessly, but nada. So, I’ll just have to use MY words to tell you how lovely I think YOUR words are.
Thank you so much, Jennie!
You’re very welcome, Rowshan!
Thank you, Rowshan. Your poetry so captures this photo & inspires me this morn.
My pleasure, Lisa! Thank you.
I don't think it is a coincidence that your embrace of nature allows you to stay clear headed (mosttimes) through this painful noise and tumult.
You keep us all going.
Something about the story of the day and the photo of this sunset, both, gives me some hope. Thanks.
😊😘💕
A perfectly grace-filled day. Thank you for your efforts on behalf of every American.

For me, living in Houston was always like breathing through a wet sponge.
We’ll be in Austin in September for the Alison Krauss/Robert Plant concert. Not looking forward to that heat after a summer in Maine.
OMG! What a great day, no matter whose version of the whale you follow! Rest well, we depend on you! <3

Just curious, as a reader of young adult novels, as to what you were reading this morning. Thank you. Tracy Greenwood
Have you read The hate U give? Or I'll Give You the Sun? Highly recommend both.
Thank you. Will look them up.
Good recommendations, Carol.
Thanks, they were both favorite books. The I'll Give You the Sun is the only book that all 8 members of my book group has liked in 5 years.
Have read the former but not the latter.
I am, too!
Me too
Where on this Planet are u reposing, Joani?
I go back to the Joni Mitchell song again:
I’m up all night in my studio and
You’re up early on your ranch
You’ll be brushing out a brood mare’s tale
While the sun is ascending
And I'll just be getting home with my reel to reel
There's no comprehending
I love that you and Buddy make it work! You complement each other well. Wishing you both more blessings to come.
Gorgeous, sleep well!

I realized today that a recent Hopi friend of mine is a “cloud person”, as I feel connection to be one also, so I said “we are Cloud People!”
He agreed.
It appears Buddy is a definite Cloud Person too!
💜
Oh what an idyllic picture you paint! We all know you deserve it.
Love your life! 💕🌟💕
Thank You for sharing with us!
Sweet dreams.
