Yes to what you have written here. Still, we need to figure out how to defeat Trump and MAGA candidates for the Congress on this coming election. The key issue is should Biden step down, and if so what is the best ticket. Please share your thoughts.

Heather Cox Richardson has spoken to this on Amanpour which Robert Hubbell provided a link to in his substack. It is around 11 minutes of HCR gold.

My Democrats Abroad group is talking about it. I love that she points out that SCOTUS is staging a coup of our government. They certainly are not following the constitution which they have sworn to uphold. I think we should be asking all of our politicians, not just ones on the Judicial committee to impeach them.

Yes, highly recommend listening to this; just finished and HCR basically stated that it's not about the two people currently running but rather, what their respective administrations will do for the country, and she feels it's a clear choice to elect the one that's not going to destroy democracy, not engaging in a "legal coup." (I am paraphrasing; any misinterpretation is solely my own error.)

We must support and vote for whoever is the Democratic candidate for POTUS in November. Just the way we did 4 years ago. No protests, no sitting out and we must turn out the vote, especially in the swing states.

We have the capacity to sweep. Register more Democrats to empower those votes.

Thank you Linda for the link. I have just watched. Excellent. DEMs should develop a short platform, easy to understand, and make the election in terms of not Biden vs Trump but in terms of Biden's platform vs Trump's.

Stick with Joe and Kamala!

The last three and a half years of progress and healing make that quite clear. This isn't the first time pretend allies have promoted the notion of changing horses in midstream. It's not a new tactic, but with the short time between now and the election it'd guarantee a loss.

That SHOULD be "Clear as Daylight" to anyone capable of rational thought. BUT this election cycle is getting shorter fast. Don't change horses in the middle of a stream... That's why they are OLD sayings, they're TRUE. That option has passed. AND Biden is a very good president.

It's President Biden's decision, based on his knowledge of his own condition, his meetings with trusted elected officials and staff and his family's input. Our job is too defeat Donald Trump no matter who the Democratic candidate is. We should tell our elected officials how we feel in direct communication with them. A floor fight at the convention is absurd. In 1876 Sitting Bull had a vision and Crazy Horse carried it out. They united Native tribes who had never worked together before to focus on George Custer and his 7th Calvary. They destroyed Custer's unit in the most total and overwhelming defeat in US Military history. That's what we must do.

All we can do is wait, but in the meantime avoid calling Biden's abilities into question. The NYT is doing enough of that for all of us.

All experts on fascism agree that we need to stand behind our candidate. See Professors Timothy Synder and Ruth Ben-Ghiat.
