Yes…persistence is the virtue that ultimately brings unification from which hope can flow. We hope fascistic behavior will be replaced with fairness, we hope those who had given up on the idea of democracy will throw off their fear and embrace a calm realization that “until everyone wins, nobody wins” as my friend Bruce would say. We’re here on this sparkling, astonishing and truly beautiful planet for such a short time. How truly lucky we are. Be kind to someone who is feeling down or isolated, help a neighbor, smile, watch your grandchildren for a day or a week or a month….feel their innocent joy and happiness. We’re not here to play a zero sum game …we’re here to live and love one another. Love creates hope like water does a rose. Love without boundaries… Mother Theresa knew this so did Abe Lincoln. We can do this, too.
- have ideas about politics but think what is happening with the Jan 6 committee is just funny
- plan to vote when they can and Montana just passed a bill allowing ballots to be sent out to kids who are not 18 yet but will be 18 when voting starts (not these kids)
- one kid is more conservative than the other (peer pressure)
- never argue with me
- had lots of questions about LGBTQ and use of different personal pronouns
- will clean their rooms if friends are coming over but otherwise no
- have their own cars and it is a status symbol to one kid and just a method of transportation to the other. They live in the country so have to travel
- do not value history
- do not read unless it is on a screen
- one is an honors student; the other is not
- one articulates that he values kindness; the other says he has learned lots from Mom and dad

(they are not identical)
It takes a while for the history bug to bite. One good teacher brings it all to life and perspective -like HCR- and they're off!
Spot on, Kathy. And insightful into our current youngins!
Sibling are never identical! 😉
Interesting.
Amen, brother!
