What angered me the most is that it is very likely that those two congresscritters* may well have sealed their terms coming to an end by participating on this committee because it goes "against the president". That signals to me that what the Republiqans WANT is to have an authoritarian government and not a democracy, republic, or democratic republic that is open to all, not just white guys.
I thought that the officer's testimony was compelling, especially one who read the definition of "terrorist" from the US code, bringing that into the open that what they faced down in the Capitol on 6 January was, in fact and in action, terrorist activity and an attempted insurrection.
*I use the Professor's term "congress critters" since it is so descriptive, and I can use it without having to check if someone is a Senator or a Representative.
Republicans have wanted an authoritarian "regime" since the days of Reagan. Reagan was the knife in the back of America, a phony elitist racist. This moment has been a long slog in arriving, and we must NOT regard it lightly. I LIKE your "congress critters", although I might have a more expletive-driven descriptive! 😊
Staying civilized amidst the most uncivilized among us is a huge challenge. I do my best to NOT become like "them". I am sickened and saddened about this moment in our country's history. We are NOT "out of the woods" with this quite yet. I am bracing for more violent behavior from Republicans and their supporters.

You and me both!! I have to monitor my use of "colorful metaphors" on this page. I go to Jim Wright's Facebook page for my other utterances.
