Please explain to me why Pelosi has not done more to investigate and expose the "treasonous" Republicans in the House who have clearly disobeyed their oath of office. One committee investigating Jan 6 and Trump is insufficient and does not come close to exposing the breadth and depth of the Republican attack on democracy.
And why stop there? Why doesn't Pelosi investigate the six justices on the Supreme Court who have betrayed their oaths of service? Vet them like they should have been vetted by the Senate Judiciary committee. The history as succinctly described by HCR should be brought to the attention of the American People by Constitutional scholars. And, how is Thomas allowed to still sit on the Supreme Court?
Republicans keep shouting "witch hunt" - the least Democrats can do is oblige them. Witch hunts in politics are effective - ask any Republican - ask Hillary, ask Holder! Cripes all mighty, Republicans are already talking about impeaching Biden!! They don't have a leg to stand on but that doesn't stop them, and they may even succeed if they get control of the House and Senate.
You want some rhetoric that will rankle Republicans and blow this up to the significance it deserves - start charging Republicans with crimes against humanity and plaster the news media with examples. They indeed have blood on their hands and that is only going to increase in the weeks and months ahead. The Republican position is indefensible - for faux FOX, and for every Republican acolyte. Well at least it should be if pressed with facts and evidence. We need more "Politics Girls" taking the fight to the gates of hell!! Pelosi is not up to this task in my view.
Leadership in the House, Senate, and Democratic National Committee could learn from a fight I saw in high school. A bully had been picking on another kid, the quiet type, for days. Everyone has known a bully like this guy: fast-talking loudmouth full of himself.
One day the bully humiliated the quiet kid with taunts. A crowd gathered. There was some pushing and shoving. The quiet kid was going to back down or take a beating. No question. Then, in an instant, the kid grabbed the bully's t-shirt and yanked it up and over his head. Several quick punches and the bully was sprawled on the ground, wind knocked out of him and nose bloodied.
Yea! What makes me so angry is that Republicans know, to the point of assuming, that Democrats will never stand up to them. Time and time again, Republicans have bullied to get their way or get their guy in power. McConnell is the biggest bully of the bunch. Democrats always back down and make excuses. They never have taken on the bully even though the majority of Americans are on their side and have their back.
I don't know about you Michael but I'm tired of backing a party that won't stand up for their constituents. Old cliches are true today just as before - if you live by the sword, be prepared to die by the sword. I take that to mean, you can't win if you aren't willing to go down trying.
We are bombarded daily by fundraising pleas based on a pledge/threat to do something when at this point no one really believes that Democrats can get their act together to make it happen. Here's a novel idea - do something that deserves my support.
They could start by canning feckless Jamie Harrison and hiring Leigh McGowan (Politics Girl.)
Maybe a better analogy than the high school fight is someone trapped in an alley, facing off with thugs intent on robbing and hurting their prey. In that situation, you do everything in your power to survive. So what if it's not the way you typically behave or like being perceived? I always carry a large, sharp pocket knife. Damn right I would use it in this scenario, though I find this kind of violence abhorrent.
Anyone who thinks this isn't a life-and-death struggle for democracy and what we see as an essential way of life is naive or deluded.
The party desperately needs a youth movement — people who understand the stakes and are willing to fight accordingly.
Great analogy that rings true to me. Republicans have blood on their hands so they have demonstrated they will do whatever it takes to win the fight. They care less about human life than gaining and holding power.
If the old guard isn't up to the task, then at least they should do the honorable things and pass the torch to the young hellcats who are itching to take the fight to the Republicans and stand up for regular Americans.
Talking about a youth movement which I agree with reminds me of a comment I made a while back of Democrats strategically going after the women's vote, i.e. an all out women's movement.) We have seen them work effectively in the past and I think the times are ripe for Democrats to put women on the front lines of this war.
The core issues of preservation of life, family values, abortion, gun restrictions and human rights are best championed and defended by women. They have the passion and empathy to take the fight to the Republicans. And, women know how to talk to other women, men not so much. Women are far more likely to stick together because of shared experiences. I also think women are uniquely positioned to challenge (stand up to) the authority of men.
The future of this country hangs in the balance, and I believe it is time to give women and young people the reins to lead us to a better and more prosperous future for ALL.

Couldn't agree more!

Yes. That is exactly the approach I'm advocating.
