Pollan's book led me to some other sources, too. Now I've got his new one, "This is Your Mind on Plants", that I'm anxious to dig into, after I finish "Recapture the Rapture: Rethinking God, Sex. and Death in a World That's Lost Its Mind."
An acquaintance of, in his spiritual quest, did the ayahuasca retreats Pollan wrote about, and had positive results. Obviously not verifiable or quantifiable! Still, anecdotal testimonials are often helpful.
Love, love, love me some Michael Pollan. I've been reading his books for the last 10 years. 'How to Change Your Mind' is amazing and groundbreaking in its scope and breadth.
