And what were the Dems doing while the Trumpsters were taking over the "grass roots" and setting up a different and corrupt voting system for 2024? A system that will allow state legislators, not voters, to determine who the electoral votes go to. One that Thomas has more than hinted he will have the court give their blessings to in the Fall? We can't just blame "them" and not own our part or this mess or we, Democracy and this nation is doomed. We sucked at message. Still do. And Biden's optics frankly have been bad and getting worse. But I've been watching Gavin Newsom, good at message and optics who looks like he warming up to make a run for it .The Great Democrat Hope possibly?

Diane, I agree. I am also looking at Gretchen Whitmer. Maybe they could be a dream team. We need fresh, new leadership. If Biden is put up again, with all the downsides you mention, we are truly doomed. Thanks for your thoughtful comment.

Not doomed because it’s an “if” at this point. Let’s support fully his next 2+ years in office.

Elizabeth I like Gretchen too. Also Tammy Duckworth has lots to offer. MUST be a woman on the ticket. Thanks for your response.

I want her to take Schumer’s place! Right now, would be good...

I like that for Amy! And what an improvement! But I’m afraid he will hog the position.

Read today’s NYTimes article on Whitmer and abortion battles in Michigan. She has two young daughters and is fighting for them. I like her more and more.

Yes, Diane. I've been watching Newsom, too. Unfortunately, he'll have to overcome (again) the fact that the state tried a recall on his election. I agree with others below that there needs to be a woman on the ticket....Amy Klobuchar?

But he beat the recall. We, in CA, made damn sure he did!

I think he is too. There are many in CA who despise him, but he has my vote. I am now receiving emails from the Attorney General sharing all that they are working to accomplish.
