This was simply the best review of Carter‘s life and the event that celebrated him. I thought Biden‘s words were extremely powerful and spot on and I feel sad and heartened that Jimmy Carter lived and served his communities so well.

I so appreciate the recognition that Jimmy Carter has gotten. He has been dismissed (starting with Reagan's tactics around the hostage release) as a weak president when he truly accomplished so much. And he was so honest as to rate his own presidency and his own shortcomings. If only more politicians could be so forthright.

I was a kid in 1980 but even then I thought he got a raw deal.

I believe that every beautiful eulogy spoken about President Carter was lost on Donald Trump. To him, they were just words and didn’t mean a thing.

Such a lovely tribute to Jimmy Carter, his Presidency and his life time of service to his country and his community. He was ridiculed and disrespected by Republicans his entire presidency and afterwards as well. He was a diplomat and so very forward thinking and I recall him installing solar panels on the White House, only to have them removed by the “sainted” Ronald Reagan.

He is definitely living with Rosalind and the other angels now!

That was the most moving episode of any podcast or commentary I've ever heard. I attended the University of Georgia from '68-'70. JC was the new governor of Georgia, following the ignorant and despicable previous governor, Gov. Lester Maddox. I'll never forget how Mattox stood on the steps of Georgia's capital, handed out ax handles, and advocated them to bash in the heads of blacks. I'm a white dude from New Jersey who grew up in a town with folks of all religions, nationalities, and races. It was obvious that the black students were discriminated against, so I marched with them (the only white) when they held their marches. I was the only white person who had attended meetings of the Black Students Union. And I'm proud of how I stood up for them. And I still, to this day, do as well as standing up for people of all colors and creeds, with the only exception being standing up for most of the Republican politicians.

So please get involved and help make this world a better place for everyone!

Really do appreciate these audio copies. The professorial yet pragmatic and down-to-earth voice really helps me focus. Thanks.

brilliant analysis. simply brilliant. too bad all the truly inspiring words fell on the deaf ears of the president elect. i am humored by heather’s observations re mrs pence’s and george bush’s interactions (or lack of) w trump. i just noticed biden side-eyeing his successor while delivering his very powerful eulogy. also, i thought the melania looked dreadful.
