What I see is a rep of the far left. He cannot be accused of being a MAGA extremist or a Putin supporter (although were I Putin, I would take advantage of the dissention within the Democratic Party with dis-information). That is more far-right. The far left - a movement I am not familiar enough with. The reason I take at least a passing interest in what John says is that our younger electorate seems to look at things similarly, and are greatly critical of the Biden administration. Demonstrations on our college campuses for instance. And my own kids - they sneer at the current administration, and cannot believe we are furthering what they see as a holocaust in Gaza at the hands of Israel. Slow progress on global warming mitigation. Failure of the student loan promises (at least partial). Obvious influence of the rich and powerful as evidenced by the scuttling of the Bernie Sanders campaigns in both the last elections, complements of the DNC. They see the normal pace of a two-party government as unsuitable for these times, they recognize monied interests as being primarily motivated by protecting their money, and cannot seem to understand that to turn one's party platform towards exactly what the far left (or further left) advocates actually means to lose the election to the right wing. They are greatly disillusioned. Somehow - we have to get such a voting block to show up this November and vote blue. They won't vote red - that is more of a given. But they might stay home with a protest no-vote. We can't have that. And that is why I am hesitant to fully dismiss this sort of thing.
