I hear you. And I would like to hear from you and anyone else what the Americans and the American president should do now.
How does an American reign in someone like Netanyahu? And how does America simultaneously guarantee the safety of Israeli Jews and Arabs who have been coexisting peacefully and only want to survive and help their children thrive?

Last I heard 75% of Israelis want him gone. Why they are waiting so long must have to do with fear of losing continuity during a war. But the war has no end in sight.
There should be an election now, and Bibi should be a citizen who can be charged with corruption. No more hiding under the covers of power.
But, what he is doing is what Israelis have hoped for: putting those problematic Palestinians in a position of extreme misery so they die or go someplace else. He's accomplishing a long time goal.
This stuff really sucks for the people who just want to live and let live. And, doubly for those that actively promote peace between people. Why are those people not the ones that lead the show? Could it be that those in power got there by being the opposite of nice?
Great questions, Judith. How did we allow a grifter bigoted con man to become president? How did Republicans allow their party to become something unrecognizable and horrific?
I suspect Hamas would kill or disappear anyone in their midst who opposed them. So, yes, I guess.
The information I have is that Hamas killed those that they found were reporting to the IDF Israel. And, they weren't able to provide benefits to the people. They had an agenda to go after Israel for what Israel had done to Gaza over decades. The people in Gaza could never be satisfied with their government because it's a prison; there is only so much that can be done under those circumstances.
Watched Democracy Now this morning; I would recommend that to anyone interested in facts. I'm very suspicious of The NY Times and WaPo for news. they seem to follow the "party line". Jewish power in the USA is no joke.
Vivian Silver was a friend of friends of mine. A Canadian who moved to Israel as a young woman, she lived in a farming community and devoted decades to working for peace. Vivian was a cofounder of Women Wage Peace. She was missing after October 7 and presumed a hostage - until her DNA was identified from a bone in the ashes of her home.

Let the Israelis remove Netanyahu from office. A big "let".

He needs to go! Saner heads should prevail.

Yes, extremists Israelis. But not the Israelis I know. Not the teacher who received awards for her efforts to bring Jewish and Arab kids together.
I believe there is a majority of Israelis who would accept coexistence with Palestinians and would prefer peace.
But when your peaceful suburb receives rocket fire...year after year. And your government is led by a wannabe dictator.
The latter idea should be frighteningly easy for us to identify with.
Our friends and relatives in Israel only want peace. And democracy.

Tragic. So many good people have gotten swept up on both sides....and, in all of these violent "disagreements".
