It seems the only answer to that SCOTUS Conservative majority, lifetime appointment issue is a 2/3 majority of progressives in the U.S. Senate. And on the likelihood of that in my lifetime, I quote Lynell from earlier in this thread (also from Miracle on 34th St.) "I believe. I believe. I know it's silly but I believe!"
