Do not accept friendship on social media with anyone you do not personally know. Even then double check to make sure you are not already friends with them, as it may be a cloned profile of a real friend who has been hacked. As I post progressive comments on various fb sites, I receive weird bogus, sometimes flirtatious, requests to be friends. Some are in military uniform, and others have a child, puppy or flower in their photo. The profile pix are likely not of themselves. The oddly worded language suggest they are foreign and perhaps working at a troll farm. One tip off is when a guy says he's "too shy to request my friendship and so would I add him up." I've seen this frequently and often to several posters in sequential order. When I see this behavior and language including to others, I report them to FB first and then block them on my account. We all need to be extremely careful. It is not paranoia!
