Yes. That’s a key point I think many folks don’t understand. When a citizen votes for someone and that someone wins the election, we are giving them our proxy and allowing them to make decisions on our behalf. If an elected person runs amok and makes decisions that are harmful to the person who voted for them, there isn’t a great that can be done except not vote for them during the next election and convince other voters not to vote for them and hope they lose the election. I believe many voters do not truly understand the power of their vote. It also dismays me those eligible voters who refuse to vote. They do not seem to understand that not voting IS voting.
