Mike, the line you hear most commonly is ‘owning the libs’, but more accurately it is owning the elites. They see the country circling the drain, just like most of us sense is happening, and mistakenly see Trump as a vehicle to destroy what they perceive is taking us down the drain.

I think it is simpler. They are just brainwashed. The tactics are obvious that trump, fox and co. use— if you have studied cults and nazis. I think we also see how vulnerable people in churches succumb to whatever their leaders preach. They believe their leaders are God men. They believe it so much they can be mesmerized, controlled, and sexually abused. Just like in other cults. Cult leaders are often narcissists who want power over others and use repetitious messaging and fear to get it. I do not think all religious leaders do this, but I would always keep an open mind and question anyone's authority over you.

Making people believe that they are born sinners, guilty and someone was crucified because of them is really an abhorrent idea to inflict on innocent people. Trump asked people to go out and vote in Iowa last night—even if they are sick and die from it. He thinks it is worth it. Do you think they actually can think anymore on their own? Big Daddy anti-christ will tell you what to do and you no longer need to think. Just give him your money!! That is malignant narcissist power over minds.

Brainwashing does not allow logic into the limbic system. That is our greatest problem with the maga cult.

Remember that engaging in and adopting a religious belief or practice requires the investment of the suspension of disbelief. These adherents are now primed for possible salvation or manipulation, or both. As humans our engagement with religion has had been as beneficial as it has been destructive. Seems pretty typical to me. I think the problem with the Magats is fear of future and change. I spent some time in the midwest in the late 70s and found the natives wonderfully welcoming and helpful. Most were somewhat content and happy and were not very interested in anything outside of a 150 mile radius.

Scott, you are right on with your comment. I wish I could give you a 100 likes. Fear of change!! They will break their own fingernails to hang on. They are completely resistant to it. They are dug in. Fear of POC, well, fear of anything different. At one time these communities welcomed the KKK. They saw them as protectors from black people and Jews. This is more about race than inflation. We have always had our own American Apartheid.

Yeah Lisa, Race is the base. From what I've read of current neurobiology studies everyone develops a reaction to the sense of differences in race. It happens in milliseconds before your conscious mind tells you what you are sensing It is developed at a very young age. Social conditioning supports this identification through the years. Some people recognise this and put in a little effort to

understand biais when interacting with people of different races. Others just resort to fear which breeds hate. Considering there is almost no difference in the DNA of different races this whole evolutionary adaption needs to be scuttled.

Yes, I agree! But caste systems and tribalism are deeply ingrained. We can still keep working on it. Look at all the incredible women in our judicial systems, of different colors, strongly holding the flame of Truth! Breaking the ceiling also breaks down the caste system. But you can hear the threats of the old white dominant males like the demented Inmate # P01135809 who attacks them using barely masked perjorative terms from his racist background. His father taught him well.

I heard that, too. He said if you're sick, come and vote first before you die!

Especially to vote for Trump. During the peak pandemic, "Republicans"were urging people to go out to keep profits up at the risk of their health, perhaps their lives. That's malignant narcissism.
