I don't know which truth to tell - that I believe these are a great way to reach people who prefer to listen to podcasts so that even if there are only a few hundreds or thousands it can extend your reach even further, or that I am concerned for your own mental and physical health as you try every way you can to reach us all. Please remember that if you don't take care of yourself you can't help anyone else.
Hi Heather , Hoping that more people speak up - I love the audio on Apple Podcasts. I know it's just one extra thing for you to do, but please keep it up if it makes sense!
Hi Heather, I prefer to audio, but haven't been able to get it, so I should be adding to your numbers now, knowing how to get signed up. But I agree with Jan, above--you do so much! Don't exhaust yourself!
I subscribe to Robert Hubbell and listen to his audio version as I drink my morning coffee. BUT his audio version is a choice I can make as soon as I open his newsletter. Waiting until the next day for yours was an issue for me. I just read you and listen to Robert
The way to do it, at least on Android: Go to any of HCR's posts (like this one) and click the 3 dots, and choose "View publication." On that screen click the 3 dots again and choose "Manage subscription." This opens a web page where you can toggle on the podcast option.
Curious: Why not just use the “Voiceover” feature of Substack and upload your audio there? Having a separate feed for those seems like a step most people will forget to bookmark. I’ve had a substack for a while and always just voiceover or upload my voiceover there and it’s super convenient. People can either listen, read, or both from the same page!
Because I can't record the audio when the letter goes out; I have to do it about eight hours later. So it COULD live here on the letters if we attached it later, but no one would get it automatically.
I am a paid subscriber on Substack and have listened to the audio provided on substack every morning for around 2 years and it is no longer available. I prefer to listen snd read on Substack first thing in the morning.
Might it make sense to just include a note at the end of your written posts that the audio will be added within a day and use this convenient voice feature? Cuts pushes, platforms, and posts…. You’re plenty busy enough.
And Heather, thank you so so much for your work! Your voice adds so much richness and depth to what is happening in our world . While the audio would be a convenience, personally I’ll continue to read every day because I learn so much and value what you have to say! I know many of us in this community feel the same. Thanks for all you do!
The audio is fabulous, I listen to you on my morning walks so thank you for making this added effort as an option. I don’t always have time to read the letters so this is a huge bonus. I listen via Apple Podcasts
I think the reason that there’s a drop off in the number of readers listening to the daily newsletter is that it’s a little cumbersome. I love both the written and the audio but I’m not a frequent podcast listener so half of the time I can’t quite find it. Send them both!!

You are absolutely right. Couldn’t agree with you more. Heather is a national treasure!!!!!!❤️👏
My thoughts too!

I also love the audio on Apple Podcasts - the written letters sometimes stack up but I’m
Up to date every day on the audio

Same for me
Same for me.
I went to settings but there was no 'manage subscription' section. Where is it?
i think you have to go through the browser. I’m not finding it in app either
it does work through the browser. Try that and not app.
Thanks, it did work in the browser. Perhaps HCR could advise people that they will need to manage this in a browser, not the Substack app?

I agree with Charles. Use the voiceover feature on substack . Easier for you easier for us
I much prefer Heather’s voice, but I also prefer listening/reading when it is published. The AI voice audio on Substack did disappear recently.

Yay! I didn’t realize that Apple pod cast app was an option! Thank you!
I am a reader and you are my first read everyday. Thank you
Very thoughtful of you to reach out to your audio audience. But that is you Ms Heather , thoughtful .
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Xox
...and a Very Happy Leap Day to you!!!
Thanks for the heads up Professor ⭐

I hate the AI voice used by Substack. Especially when it comes to reading the notes at the end. So much better to hear your voice.
I don't always listen, but I really hope that you continue the podcasts. Sometimes my eyes are just too tired to read!
Exactly.
I LOVE the audio version. With Healther reading so clearly and with just the proper intonations, it adds tremendously to the Letter.
Love this Letter be it written or audio!!!
