Trump & MAGA's attempt to destroy Europe has made Ukraine a battlefield in the struggle for democratic institutions. I am signing up to help. You can, too, by going to the Ukraine embassy website. They need experienced soldiers and folks with technical expertise of all sorts and people who are able to provide cheap social services - making sure people get the basics and fighters get equipment. By any reasonable mesure, Ukraine is going to win this war if we can finance it and we can if we want to - we, Europeans, American patriots and like-minded friends from Asia and around the world. Ukraine is a lovely country, too. There will be plenty to do and dance there after we have won the first part of the war for equal right.

You are so good at summarizing so I can understand. Your students are lucky and now we are too.

Wealthy OG's (oligarchs) from Russia need to launder money in the West. It's impossible to do this in closed economies like Russia. The most common places to do this are London and NYC, primarily through real estate schemes.

That being said, along with the middle ten minutes of this episode, makes it clear why things are happening as they are.

It's old fashion greed.

Thanks for summarizing the Ukrainian and Russian connections to our recent elections.

Thank you Heather for the clear details of what DTrump is doing to America! This has been the plan for years. Trump is a traitor to America. That Trump was not impeached makes me sick. I remember Jan 6th well.

Thank you for this thoughtful summary. I never realized the extent and duration of DJT's involvement and manipulation through Russian influence. There seems to be something extremely sinister about DJT, his disaffection with American values and the geopolitical lessons of the 20th century. Your succinct history is eye opening.

Perhaps someone should remind Trump and his cronies that Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty has been invoked just once, by America after the 9/11 attacks and then NATO planes from Europe were sent immediately to patrol American skies. Thousands of European NATO troops joined the US in Afghanistan. The US itself does not contribute 5% of its GDP to NATO and it's financial contribution to the Ukraine war has been more than matched by the Europeans.

Did it ever occur to anyone that we shouldn’t be overloading the phone lines of conservative leaders, but democratic ones? Think about it; how often have conservative legislators worked for the people? They are on the verge of becoming a permanent power, so why do they care? Democrats, on the other hand, are a dying group—we should be flooding them with demands to fight fire with fire. This whole “when they go low, we go high” is a fallacy.

And there will not be a 10 percent charge. I do not authorize that and did not see it when I donated.

This will NOT be a recurring charge. Correct? I do not authorize any such charge. Thank you.

I agree with you completely; these people discarded any sense or moral values, empathy, and integrity many, many years ago. We would not have the simpering, cowering anti-constitutionalists the calls itself the House and Senate majorities, if not for the people who voted them into office in the first place; and whom voted for the giant orange turd not just once, but twice. They may not succeed in destroying Europe and the Constitution of the U.S.; but they damn sure gonna give it their best shot. No matter what the legal scholars say, that we’re not yet in a constitutional crisis, it’s quite obvious that we are. Why? Because the duly elected president and vice president, plus his cabinet picks approved by the simpering, supine senate repugnicans gave up all their power to King Dump; then his owner, Elon the Dog, got they keys to the kingdom for only about $277 million plus a lot of flattery and groveling. Musk’s companies have already received at least $38 BILLION from various federal contracts, and he aims to do much better by eliminating the competition. But guess what: I believe that King Dump will fail to achieve his nefarious goals.
