So, who didn't see this coming? Love is blind, MAGA loved DJT so much they forgot he has always been about himself. From his dealings in NYC, casino debacles, to his personal relationships, he is about him. Sorry MAGA, you don't buy $100,000 watches, you're out. Alas, you have no one to blame but yourselves. Sadly, all of us will pay the price.

clearly the swamp has been drained... of water, but all the alligators and swamp muck remain.

I like this analogy very much! Very apropos. Alligators and crocs are opportunistic feeders. Everything is fair game. Well done!

It's playing out as expected. Here come "all those foreign jobs back to America" as low cost high tech workers on visas. Next MAGA's war on farm workers and meat packers. Soon, the traditional MAGAs will be picking tomatoes and declared essential workers. Welcome to the new Gilded Age.

Sriram Krishnan was correct in that schools, parents, and media are not producing enough tech talent. Comparing farm workers and meat packers i.e blue collar jobs to high-tech talent is Erroneous.

No doubt the TikTok “squabble” is a table on which there is now open warfare inside MAGA. Which way will Trump go? Tech Bros or xenophobics? If one realizes the narcissist loves only one person (period), it is easy to see Trump kissing up next to the tech oligarchs. (Sorry, Loomer.) If you think otherwise, you clearly do not understand narcissism. Likewise, the TikTok “squabble” hosts a notable grifter unable to do a grift. Blackmail for his cut of that pie is in his sights to be on his table.

You MUST remember the narcissist loves only one person. The xenophobics are no longer of any use to Donald. They are chicken fodder now.

All we can do is watch these pigs infighting, and pick up our screaming that the price of groceries are going up. It is now our turn. Turnabout will be hilarious. We must, as Robert Hubbell said this morning, start building the 2026 and 2028 platform. I started one…https://hotbuttons.substack.com/p/create-a-platform-for-all?r=3m1bs

I prefer the term "xenophobes."

Tech bros and xenophobes:

One in suits, the other robes.

Sometimes I think all these new labels like tech bros, etc is deliberate attempt to deflect and minimize the real threat, that we have passed from a corptocracy to a real oligarchy. I’m thinking we should call a spade a spade. Sorry Elon and Theil. I see what you are, oligarchs.

Oh, your point. :-) Oops. Right. Good observations!

What a cluster fork this fauxGOP has devolved into. Hate having to just stand back and watch them kick each other arses. Wish there was a way to help them beat the crap out of each other. Musk may have bought him the dumbest freaking president in history but this stable genius still sees himself as the Chosen One and will not be upstaged.

Rich people joined the MAGA movement hoping to gain even more wealth and power. Historically, they have created dissent between members of the working class to achieve their goals. They are responsible for shipping U.S. jobs overseas and bringing in foreign workers, including most of the undocumented ones, as cheap slave labor. Working class MAGA people have suffered from this and want to tear the system, which they have identified as the government, down. Musk and Ramaswamy have lifted the veil of secrecy, letting other MAGA people see their true motives.

There is a glacial fault within MAGA. The anti-immigrant position is going to hurt business and agriculture. Americans, degraded by the shipping of jobs overseas and loss of local jobs to cheap immigrant labor, are angry. The (hairy) Krishna appointment has triggered an earthquake as the two tectonic plates move in opposing directions.

I'm wondering when will the "rich people" find out that they are not rich enough!

How many multi-multi-Millionaires do you know? How many Billionaires do you know?

To benefit from Trump's tax cuts, you need to have an annual income of $400,000.00. You need to have Stocks, Bonds, Cash, SS payments of about $14Million invested in an average of 4% (without compensation of a huge salary, less if you do.) (Hope you can keep that job! Non-productive Land, Houses and Cars do not count.) Congratulations, you can pay a lower tax rate than a nurse, teacher, police officer, truck driver, small business owner, factory worker, government/civic worker, carpenter, electrician, plumber, technician, etc. What do you want your community to look like? As the poor get poorer, the potholes get bigger!

Ironically, Biden brought back a Huge amount of manufacturing and overseas tech to America. I guess that wasn't good enough for those who thought higher food prices were unique to US. I hope MuskyTrump will continue the progress of Biden.

Aș I’ve been writing here recently about

what an editor told his young reporter, “There is only one story, and that is ‘the rich screwing the poor.’” What Heather tells us today is precisely the same thing.

Thanks, Dr. Richardson!

I signed up for a one year paid subscription for $50 and paid with my card. The transaction showed $100 was charged to my card. Please correct this or I’ll have to dispute the entire charge. I won’t be subscribing to any more Substack feeds, much as I enjoy them. This is unacceptable and I’m on limited income. Please, someone, fix this… it’s to everyone’s benefit.

The Hopi Prophecy for our times says that the two-hearted shall be split from within, according to John Kimmey. It certainly seems that those who seek to serve two masters, their religion and their power structure, will serve neither well, as accords the Book of James. And so it seems that the time for all this is now.

I...LOVE...LISTENING...TO...HCR! Both she and Rachel Maddow top my list.

How about that. A civil war amongst their "own." They're all in it for themselves. Should this surprise us? Or are we already headed into four years' worth of "I told you so's? I'd like to like Loomis, but...Nah! She's too much of an Orange Sleazebag follower. That alone is a major deal breaker for me.

To quote Frederic R. Coudert: "We live in interesting times"...Which means that the current period is marked by significant change, uncertainty or upheaval. It's commonly used as a way to say we are experiencing a time of great social or political flux. This phrase has been mistakenly attributed to a Chinese curse. It is not. I loosely copied this based on a Google search. I find that it fits perfectly in these times of political turmoil.

Great letter outlining the sh show that's our politics. Watching what's going on in South Korea, and wondering if djt will actually be inaugurated, and then how long he'll last. One month? 6 months?

I wonder if this is all political theater? Like a play in four acts. May us take our eyes off what is really going on, something more nefarious like January 6. A martial law take over.

Oh, he's already told America, especially those who voted for him, that they're fired, right after he once again cheated his way into the WH. We who didn't will be carrying the hallmarks of what many who stand to gain, by way of riches and control or power. Fascism or not, this country finds itself on one hell of a slippery slope.
