“No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son.”

Hunter got persecuted for being Joe’s son.

If addiction to drugs is a reasonable gun regulation, why isn’t alcohol addiction?

How many alcoholics have purchased a firearm? Why isn’t that a known statistic? How many deaths by firearms involve an alcoholic gun owner? How many school shooters/mass shooters have alcoholic parents?

Pardoning Charles Kushner for some really awful crimes, witness intimidation and criminal campaign finance law breaking…. Get an appt as Ambassador to France. Talks about a false equivalency! Erghhh

The news media should be reporting - In fear of years of retaliation and unfair justice by Trumps DOJ and FBI, Biden is pardoning his son for his own protection. Who will be next in Trumps retaliation and justice schemes.

I’m beginning to wonder if all the journalists and pundits who are pillorying Biden over the pardon rather than supporting him are doing it as a cushion against Trump retribution.

My question is why are veterans and military servicemen and women voting for Trump after he disparaged them (losers and suckers) and are "surprised" by his appointment of Pete Hegseth? You reap what you sow. https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2024/09/30/military-veterans-remain-a-republican-group-backing-trump-over-harris-by-wide-margin/.

Dr. Cox-Richardson, thanks for telling me I am not crazy, when I point out that Biden has to pardon Hunter because Hunter will become a whipping boy / punchjng bag for Trump, shortly. I am still reeling that the progressives in this country CONTINUE to apply purity tests to leadership -- tests that have no basis in either ethics nor in practical strategy. It is NOT subserving the integrity of the legal process to provide cannon fodder for rulers who have stated they intend to abuse their power over every lever reachable by the administrative branch.

So…… Biden was convinced by Trump, that the FBI and the Justice Department was corrupt…..or will be.

Why the media, with few exceptions, continues to use things like Biden’s pardon of his son as a distraction from Trump’s egregious behavior and terrible selections for leadership is beyond me. What happened to investigative journalism? The worst of the lot is the Wall Street Journal. I have a subscription to Apple News and get a broad range of articles with different viewpoints. I also have a subscription to The Atlantic and get an email from the New York Times. I trust most of what I read there, but editorial articles don’t reflect what is reported on the news page. I live in Montgomery, AL. The Advertiser for the most part prints articles `taken from USA Today. The Sunday edition has an editorial section that prints articles written by people with Alabama connections and most of them reflect my rather liberal views, even one written by a lifelong Republican. He certainly does not shy away from expressing his displeasure with Trump. That section is worth reading. The problem is that most people don’t read the articles I trust and rely on confirmation bias and eschew critical thinking. I can’t help but wonder how much current media reporting is defensive and fears Trump’s ire. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.

All these appointments bring to mind the story of how Fred Trump demolished a Coney Island treasure rather than allow the city to landmark it. Could we be looking at family values? if you can't get what you want the way you want it, ruin it. If people get in your way, punish them, seek revenge. Sigh... just a recurring thought but here's a 2018 article about the "Destroy Steeplechase Party: https://www.6sqft.com/50-years-ago-donald-trumps-father-demolished-coney-islands-beloved-steeplechase-park/

Trump and his picks have no moral compass. Bad is good for them. Cruelty is a high. History is full of these creeps. And history is full of people that fight back. It's our turn.

It’s the end of justice, decency, and one nation under the law. Americans can not get their news from social media, but they do. America must read history, science and medical journals, but they don’t. America must understand terms like democracy, socialism, authoritarian, free markets, and how government and tariffs work; but the majority don’t. We have become a country consumed with influences, tik tok, and money making. We have become lazy and stupid. We have voted for exactly what we will get, and we are to dumb to realize it yet.
