In order to try to save my sanity I am trying to ignore what Trump is saying and wait to see what he tries to do as president.

As I hear you list many of the reasons that the EPA came into existence, I wonder how quickly the broligarchs in the new administration will gut or ignore these rules for the sake of greater short-term profits. Really sad.

Wow! I wasn’t aware that President Nixon was as influential for air and water safety as you outlined, so thanks for enlightening me! Now the billio-bloviators can try to cut funding for public drinking water and deregulate the chemical industries as they like. Certainly not a bunch of conservatives, since they are not conservationists.

The Dogelon thinks he will save our bacon by filling low earth orbit with satellites, and use AI to exploit their capabilities; and use giant rockets to deliver materiel and troops quickly in a conflict i.e. War. It’s a space race to get there first. Maybe instead of Space Shield or something, we should call it “Skynet”, or perhaps “Xnet”?

Yes, we are about to experience another "tragedy of the commons", as Trump's promised deregulation of polluting industries will undoubtedly increase the incidence of cancers and other chemical-induced diseases. That will mean a huge increase in medical costs for treatment and loss of productivity due to illness and deaths of workers. These costs will not fall on the responsible corporations, but rather on the taxpayers through whatever is left of Medicare and Medicaid. I don't think this was what Trump's voters expected when they filed their ballots, but it's what they really voted for. The rich will be able to install systems to purify their water, the rest will be stuck with whatever comes out of the pipe. Let's hope that there are enough legislators out there who care for the health of their constituents.
