I read the big announcement this afternoon. I thought sure it had to be a spoof like an Onion story. Made sure to look for legit news sources and found that sure enough, it was real. Thanks for mentioning it tonight to confirm this is indeed going down in the books as history. Gah!

SNL will be good, no doubt, BUT, today's NY Times beautifully animated 3D Model, of where the stolen TOP SECRET, government, documents were not so very well hidden or secured, is much better and not in the least funny. It is a Federal Crime to steal top secret documents.

Gift link for everyone to see how bad Trump's theft was, how many people had access to the stolen documents and how awesome the NY Times 3D model designer is. One of the best NY Times publications I have seen in 40 years of reading that august newspaper.

I reviewed the details of the Mar a Lago security relative to the classified documents with a growing sense of horror that this soulless, irresponsible Celebrity had open access to these matters in such a manner.

Many of those documents are abstracts representing covert operations just the name and nature probably reveal American representatives and efforts.

The criminal at the heart of this wretched business who failed at everything he was involved with except being a Manhattan TV Star demonstrates how impoverished of talented Governance the Republican Party has become.

Now the confused efforts to organize the next House of Representatives appears in danger of lasting until Easter which means Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will have to continue providing the remaining viable Government Branch.

Like most of us here on the LFAA comment section, I hooted with laughter when I read today’s newsletter. Now as I have time to think about it, and take in the reactions of -well, the world, - to this gross hawking of nothingness, I’m rather stopped in my tracks. We are buying into the ludicrously blatant headline stealing of the master of non-paid advertising. Biden had an INCREDIBLE week to boast about. His twitter handler poked fun and tried to tease away some of the engagement to relevant, actual accomplishment and BIG NEWS. But who are we talking, and posting, and allowing to suck up the oxygen in the room? AGAIN? This is not a judgement on any commenters. It is a curious observation on my own actions, as well as of those I’m reading. And I’m feeling like we are once again playing into the “Flood The Zone With Shit” game.

Thing is - a Trump failure is not a failure of Trumpism. Trumpism is alive and well. Witness the Defense spending bill, where Republicans are forcing Democrats' hands WRT to repealing the vaccine mandate among the military. These fuc_ers just will not take this disease seriously. Then Desantis is starting up a Covid 19 response investigation??? And House means to depose Fauci for some grillings by Republican led committees? Bring it on. It is my hope that Trumpism will follow Trump himself into the dustbin of history. Sooner rather than later. It's going to take alot more "winning" for our current administration, with little to no bad luck or self-inflicted wounds, and an improving economy. Fingers crossed.

Joe, a native son here in Delaware, is riding high or higher these days because he hires good people and the administration is firing on all cylinders. We will see if that "moron" McCarthy is elected Speaker in the House and then the spotlight is on the Republicans to produce and not backtrack and regurgitate old beefs. Hunter, the 2020 election, Mayorkas, even attempting to impeach the President himself are a losing strategy.

Just to be clear, Janet, I was actually reacting to the years from 2016 - 2020, then the antics, of a "not able to accept defeat" defeated ex president, dominating the news for clicks even as President Biden continues to move resolutely forward in an effort to restore sanity and productivity in our governing process. How did tfg embarrass us as a country? We can "count the ways" ad infinitum. The best, of course, being his current grift lowering himself to modeling a Halloween costume, side splittingly amusing in its photoshopped improvements. So, yes, rather than allow him any more air space in our heads, let's celebrate, instead, the extremely rocky journey our current president has navigated with grace, dignity and determination. Michael,

"If Trump is losing his luster now".

I know folks who love Trump far, far more than they love anything else in their lives. I remain completely baffled by this phenomenon, but, no longer discount it even slightly.

For those folks that I know in that state, they will probably not even know about the trading cards and second, if they do learn about them,

THEY WILL PURCHASE THEM.

So, we should be very, very careful at this point in our history. The parallels to the mid pre-history of the rise of the Nazi party remain stark and frightening.

Germany was laughing a Hitler at around this stage of the show as well.

But, those that loved Hitler? They really, really loved him.

I don't understand Trump's appeal and never did, but, I DO understand that for those who love Trump, their love for him will not be compromised or loosened by some trading cards.

'Gay, 52, the daughter of Haitian immigrants, joined the Harvard faculty in 2006 as a professor of government and is now dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the Ivy League university in Cambridge, Mass.'

'She will take office on July 1, succeeding Lawrence S. Bacow, the university’s retiring president, Harvard said. Gay will be the second woman to serve as president.'

'The barrier-breaking appointment of Gay — the first person of color to be named as the university’s president — comes several months after Harvard released a searing report on the history of its entanglement with slavery and racial discrimination in prior centuries. tf'g's "ANNOUNCEMENT" is low hanging fruit not worthy of discussion except perhaps in tales of grifting or abnormal psychology journals. HCR did refrence a real person with the moniker "Baked Alaska". This person is headed to jail for the 2nd time since J6. The J6 report to the Nation and referrals will soon be here. I suggest we keep our eye on those that have been prosecuted like 'Baked Alaska' & more than 950 others, those that will be prosected like tf'g, those that should be prosecuted such as at least 34 in Congress & the dates & terms of their parole or release.

How about another topic other than tfg? NBC News reports that the House has joined the Senate in unanimously directing the removal of the bust of Justice Roger Taney from the SCOTUS building to ne replaced by a bust of Thurgood Marshall. Taney authored the heinous, pre-Civil War Dred Scott decision. I would like to be there for Biden's singing of that Bill.

Michael,

"They don't love me anymore".

I know folks who love Trump far, far more than they love anything else in their lives. I remain completely baffled by this phenomenon, but, no longer discount it even slightly.

For those folks that I know in that state, they will probably not even know about the trading cards and second, if they do llearn about them,

They really, really loved him; a love that never stopped. We bombed the love away.

I don't understand Trump's appeal and never did, but, I DO understand that for those who love Trump, their love for him will not be compromised or loosened by some trading cards.

Expand full comment
J. Nol's avatar

Some of his appeal is probably based on the sunk cost fallacy, and some of it may be about how much tf'g is similar to themselves, or the men they have in their circle. And some of it is how he gave permission to give an fu to those who they see as taking away their privilege and allowing "those people" access to some of the goodies they thought were supposed to go to them - so a zero sum game. All of which reflects how many of them think more like children than adults.
