Ain't no such thing as coinky-dinks. The Orange Zit has no desire to govern once he reoccupies the WH. So, all those campaign promises that spewed out of his mouth like violent diarrhea won't be happening. Driven by fear Americans seem to be in a fugue state, offering up the nation to be ransacked. I asked a friend who has served at the highest levels, how did America get to be so dumbed down.. He answered with one word... misinformation. Trump is excellent at selling himself and lies. A carnival barker.. A self proclaimed hero who is a billionaire.
Heather, you are keeping me sane during these crazy times. It is clear that the looting of America has begun. All the billionaires are grabbing as much as they can as fast as they can. It will continue for the length of this term. And there are no honest Republicans elected to office (Lisa Murkowski is an exception) anymore to save us. I can't believe we have to live through 4 years of this. Just the latest example today, get rid of polio vaccines? What kind of rock did these people crawl out from under? They seem to totally lack any kind of empathy or any of the things "we learned in kindergarten."
I am grateful for this ongoing, careful documentation of events. I don't know where I would be without this clear, steady voice providing continuity so lacking elsewhere. I find hope in these words of ethics & reason. I believe them to be more powerful than all the performance, misdirection, & lies. They bring us together in what is most valuable & important. Has there ever been a darker time in history, with such complex, overwhelming corruption of all institutions & principles? For all those that lived & died in horrors before & those that deserve to know much better going forward, I hope with all I am that it will prove to be, too, a long awaited Renaissance, a revival of what is good in life; the joy of the shared experience, satisfaction in work well done, adventure, beauty, & learning. I am at a complete loss to understand how some have come to be so estranged from their own souls, the earth, & humanity. No trauma or societal conditions explain it, too many survive without going on to be so willfully abusive. We are due a great triumph of spirit. I'm ready for the luxury of simple stories of peaceful lives. Until that time, I will hold onto these words, knowing that none of these outrageous tactics are really anything new. Over & over, people have found a way to rally & overcome unfathomable evil. We can discern good leadership, those teaching truth & by example.
I still vividly remember from when I was just six years old hearing the incredible voice of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. speaking live in a church in my neighborhood in Philadelphia.
America is truly not well and needs many more great heroic doctors like him.
Is it too paranoid on my part to wonder if if Trump didn’t appear to lose the rate to Harris? In other words, he appeared objectively bad to Harris‘s performance. But what is this all a performance on his part? To lower our defences against him? To appear weaker than in fact he was? This in order to get our guard down. He then would later attack but first encourage our sympathy for him. He looks so pathetic in the way that you couldn’t help her feel sorry for him as a result of the debate. But I wonder now it was all a performance — look what big eyes and teeth you have — now you may eliminate me!
Did we really allow him to win? My biggest heartbreak is that so many people across the country worked so hard to prevent this. Even in my own family there were a few who said “ I just can’t vote for her” so they voted for a third party because they of course didn’t want the orange zit ( I like like that one!) and we ended up in this position. So hard to keep my mouth shut when they say anything about it. The best I can say is at least it wasn’t my kids! Just my husband’s 🤦♀️, even he couldn’t get through to them.
