Thank you, Dr. Heather! Once again, the fact, the history, the truth saves my day. And I commend President Biden for pardoning his son. Trump has parked in laws of serious federal crimes that they actually went to jail for. And now they're going to have a place in government as ambassadors, etc..

I am enjoying your daily narratives on history and current events.

The "FU" quotes and references on 12/1 are unneeded to make your point. They detract.

I think the FU quotes are important to show just how nasty the rightists are. (Heather is not using the terms in her words). It shows just how phoney the immoral Christians have become, and how bad Americans in general are becoming. And now you know who to send the message to - thank you Heather for the accurate reporting - may the history rewriters not corrupt the real history.

The F word is used often these days, get used to it.

I'm not sure we should get used to disrespectful and obscene language. Isn't this the very problem with Trump like politics. Are we getting used to the problematic acts and language of the extremists?

My point is that the F word is used by many for many varied reasons, some for shock, some just in normal conversation. Younger people hear and use it so often that it is not a shocking thing to say. Their music is full of its use. There is nothing political about it.

My question to you sir is are you saying we should get used to it as a resignation to its use, or an admonishment? What does it say about us as a society when such disrespectful language is par for the course? Do you think such lazy use of language has an effect on the nature of our discourse?

I think that if someone uses that kind of language in the public space and media (it is free speech if vulgar), then it not only fair game to quote them accurately; it showcases that person and their character, or lack thereof. It would be a travesty to erase their vulgarity entirely when quoting them; that kind of censorship would hide the person’s vulgarity instead of exposing it. Such things happen all the time in dictatorships, to hide the deeds of the guilty parties.

Only occasionally is the F word the right one to use; there are so many others that have more nuance to the meaning. Do not be lazy

THANK YOU HRC!! This is one of your best. The non stop MSM coverage of the Hunter pardon has nothing like the excellent context you provide. Nor have I seen any other much needed observation of the lack of balance in coverage of Trump’s outrageous actions at machine gun pace compared to that focused on Biden’s one pardon. This letter gave me immense comfort, that at least one person gets it. The Colorado Democratic governor, Dem Senator Michael Bennet and far too many other elected Democrats have issued pious condemnation of Biden’s pardon without any context or reference to Comer, J Jordan, Patel, or the other henchmen named for positions that take an oath to serve the Constitution and not the wanna be King.

It is getting to the point that the only way to stop this conspiracy is for Biden to declare martial law, suspend The Writ Of Habeas Corpus, jail Trump and his cronies who are perpetuating this folly, let the chips fall where they may, and try to lay plans to correct the deficiencies in our broken political process. This needs to be done while the military, judiciary, and essential government agencies are still in the hands of Americans who will obey the constitutions and their oaths of office.

Absolutely not. There are not enough state governors I could trust to follow their own state's constitutions, let alone the US Constitution - do you trust people like Abbott and his ilk to support Pres Biden and the federal authorities in this kind of crisis? Such action would immediately trigger calls for civil war, with the red states opposed to the Union again - and I'm not sure we can even trust all the military to honor their oaths to the Constitution. I hate thinking this about other Americans, but there it is - their ideas of what constitute patriotism, honor, trustworthiness, are profoundly different from mine.

You are an insurectionist and an enemy of democracy. Shame.

Given what Trump is doing in selecting his loyal followers for his administration, one might surmise that he is a mentally ill office seeker. Perhaps we are seeing a real life production of George Orwell's book "1984."

As for Biden pardoning his felonious son, we might wish to review where Hunter made much of his money: Ukraine. We know that Bide has the right to pardon anybody he pleases, but there might be something rotten in Denmark he would like to make go away.

In the comments here, we are having a debate on using the word f__k??? Additionally, as is usual with folks on the left, it seems no agrees to a solution. Meanwhile, the right is in lockstep behind its leader. Is there any avenue to stop this move to authoritarianism?

The Senate confirmation process, supposedly based in part on a thorough background investigation, is the normal way his nominees would be screened, since obviously, the transition team did not vet these candidates (“let Trump be Trump!”). He wants them to be vetted by His FBI, led by Kash Patel. Except, it doesn’t work that way for obvious reasons. Several of his worst picks (Gaetz, Gabbard, RFKJr., and especially Hogarth would each have trouble getting a security clearance. Team of Vipers!
