Heather, I thank you for making sense of a world that doesn’t make much sense to me. Understanding what’s happening gives me hope. I live in Oklahoma. We reference ourselves as a blue dot.

I am a paid subscriber expat living in Spain. I am very worried about the possibility of Dejoy removing mail-in ballots which I think could affect the election in some states. Fortunately, I vote in a blue state and I am able to send my ballot in electronically. In my opinion, Dejoy should have been replaced long ago and the disappearance of the mail sorters in the 2020 election should have been investigated. In any case time is getting short and perhaps the government could arrange a site where copies of ballots along with the a photo of the date a ballot was sent could be arranged to verify in the future that individual ballots were sent with sufficient time to arrive and be counted . The non-validation problem needs to be addressed with federal laws. Thanks for your excellent broadcasts, I listen daily.

Trump isn’t campaigning because I suspect he’s scared. He also isn’t garnering the crowds he used to

I don’t know if Trump is scared - maybe concerned that what once seemed like an easy stroll to the White House now appears to be an up-hill climb…he can’t use a golf cart on this one and I don’t think he is accustomed to a lot of exercise. Trump has always been obsessed with crowd size. He needs adulation and attention. I take that as a sign of insecurity.

I have to admit: that silhouette does look a lot like Kamala Harris. Is she playing with MAGA-world’s minds (such as they are)?

Dear MS Cox Richardson:

I love your letters as a paid subscriber. I get your voice messages, which are fine, but I prefer the written text. I particularly dislike the idea of working with another app to get your written account, even if it is a reputable app like Substack. Why the added step?

    Sincerely,

g b morrow

My letters as a paid subscriber both written and audio come into my gmail every day. Don't use an app so don't need a second step.

You can get the written news letters sent to your e-mail inbox. Go to the upper right corner of the screen where there is a circle (like the one that appears next to your name in this comment). It has a small down arrow on it. Click on that circle and it will bring up a pull-down menu. Click on “Manage Subscription” and it will bring up a page that allows you to click buttons “ON” or “OFF” for receiving different items from substack. The written news letter sent by e-mail is one of the choices you can turn “ON”. I am using an iPad and the Safari browser (not the app), so if your device is different, things may look a little different than I have described, but it should still be possible for you to make the changes.
