This summary of Democrat Convention is wonderful. I began to take notes but I was unsuccessful. Thanks Heather for your comments and summary. I will save it and make copies for others. I wish .
I do feel relieved and more confident after Harris and Walz took over. Last night was inspiring. I hope the next debates are not in the "gallop" format. Do we know yet?
Heather, can you PLEASE explain how everyone, including you, is so comfortable throwing around the word "democracy" when we have never actually been one and still aren't? As long as money can buy influence and the electoral college exists, we are no more democratic than before Black men and women had suffrage!
What I noticed most about the differences in the presentations at the Republican and Democratic National Conventions so far is cultural. The RNC was like a country club in a small Southern town. The DNC is far more diverse, and looks like the present and future of America. If politics follows culture, here are additional observations. https://jimbuie.substack.com/p/56-years-of-political-conventions
Thank you, Jim, for bringing that into the spotlight! It is my greatest hope that we will continue to see more and more partnerships across race, cultures..a strong and historical shift!
I dearly loved the speeches last night by Raphael Warnock, Jasmine Crockett, Hillary Clinton, Jamie Raskin, and most of all, President Joe Biden, which made my heart swell and brought tears to my eyes.
What a ride these last few days have evoked! The overlal energy is positive and powerful. Exciting! I'm looking forward to seeing the first African American woman as President of the United States! So much history there and I love the partnership of Kamala and Tim! There is an inherent balance, an exchange of positive energy between them. The significance of a Woman as African American has decades of deep wisdom, a long history of struggle and victory.. It's as if America has stepped up to a whole new level. Over the years, I've studied and researched the history, the roles, and the inherent power of African Americans. The long line of struggles, the courage to stand up and be counted is a powerful vibrant part of who she is. A litmus test of where we, as Americans, have come to. The outcome of this next election will be an invaluable milestone that demonstrates who we really are. A win with Kamala is a win for all of us! A win for the dream of equality in so many ways. A victory that will

It already feels as if history is taking a big step forward.

speak to the heart of the American dream.
I second Dr Chisholm's comment. I don't have the stamina to sit the through all the speeches. Thanks for doing it for us.
We have to hope over the DARKNESS of Trumpism... Especially over the GOP >>> Republicans the true God Offensives People for Trump.
Outstanding!
Would you write about the “Wide Awakes” of the 1860’s who compare favorably with Kamala Democrats today?
