And in Biden's case, his religious beliefs and observances seem to be genuine, not, as in the case of January 6 Defendant 1078, just one more lying grift. I certainly don't agree with the Catholic Church on almost any policy position, but I have to think a person whose asserted beliefs align with his lifelong actions is far more worthy of believing about his other assertions than someone like the mango mussolini. And I truly respect the courageous position Biden has taken on abortion, because it does not align with that of the Church historically (although the current Pope seems to be less rabid about it). Biden is an American; I think he holds to the position that he cannot promote as American public policy one that is anti-American, even though it is the position of the leader of his faith group. Unlike certain federal judges we can all name.
