I, for one, deeply appreciate the chance to listen to the audio version as a great change up from my constant reading. Listened while I made a fresh pot of tea then enjoyed a cup with toast and jam for my teatime. Thank you, Heather, and particularly for the human voice (at least I’m pretty sure it was because I have listened to other audios and can usually detect the AI-generated missed inflections).
Yup. Call it supply side economics or trickle down economics it doesn't work. It has not worked for the past 40 years. I kept wondering why republicans keep getting re-elected when they demonstrated year after year they cannot do the job for the American people. With social media it has become clear-they are suppressing citizens' votes.
Republicans have done a masterful job of using "wedge issues" to stoke fear, and distract from what they are doing financially: immigration, gun rights, abortion, LGBTQ+ issues. They have deliberately played on white American Christians' fear of becoming a racial and cultural minority.
A paid subscription makes you a proud member and supporter of the best-informed crowd of people in America. I have no idea what Dr. Richardson does with her money but I have found that her daily descriptions, notes and comments about public affairs is worth more to me than my subscriptions to the Times and the Post.
She provides this trove of information and analysis at no charge to readers and fans who are better-informed citizens and voters when they read and/or listen. This work is a rich blessing for many for whom a paid subscription would be an unaffordable luxury and I'm pleased to be part of that enterprise.
My suggestion for the audio newsletters is to omit the urls for the sources. It really isn’t useful to hear an audio url. I go to the print to see the sources & link to the ones I wish to see.

I think it gives you an opportunity to interact with the post. Also you are supporting much needed and highly valued research.
Thank you for making history relevant!
What does a paid subscription get me beside an audio version of the letter I just read? I think I’m missing something.

Well-said, Hootsbuddy.
Steve, What you missed, had you read your email, was the choice to receive Heather's letter either in a visual, auditorial or both formats!
As a former, now retired educator, accommodating different learning styles is where it's at! I prefer listening to her letters.
A big bonus is being part of great discussions with other intelligent people in the comments section.
