Heather, could you do an episode on why Russia hasn’t been kicked out of the United Nations, or explain why Russian veto power in the UN has continued. I didn’t understand how they are allowed to stay in an organization built for Peace. It looks to me like they broken any pact we and the world had with them. Thanks for the audios, and explaining our past so well. GRATEFUL!

The importance of NATO in protecting all who belong to it is why Ukraine should be allowed to join once the war is over. If Ukraine would negotiate an end now, giving up what Russia already occupies, but then joining the EU and being invited to join NATO, it could be certain that Russia would not attack it to try to take more away from it. Prolonging the end of the war will likely lead to the loss of more land and lots more Ukrainian lives.

Sadly, the likelihood that Ukraine will prevail against Putin is looking dim, all due to the antics of our dimwitted Congress!

Soundscape Editors…there is a Dedham, MA and a Wenham, MA …but no Denham.

I heard Dedham, btw.

I didn’t hear it, I actually saw it at the end of the transcript. But Dedham” and “Denham” would sound very similar.

Such an important episode, thank you, Heather! The survival of NATO is absolutely on the ballot this year. I believe it's one of the most compelling bipartisan reasons to vote Biden, and to share with anyone whose parents or grandparents fought and/or died to save Europe, and especially its Jewish citizens, from fascism and the unspeakable pogroms it inflicted against those they called "vermin" or "not even people". May God strengthen our resolve.

Great summary. There is so much more to say about the importance of NATO to world stability. https://jimbuie.substack.com/p/nato-now-75-has-mostly-stabilized
